About OP Hale:
A big warm Aloha from Hawaii! Keith, Mary, Bodhi, Cedar, Mango and Mac would like to welcome you to Pu'uanahulu on the Big Island of Hawaii. Upon visiting Hawaii over several years, we fell in love with the islands. In an effort to live a more simple and peaceful life, we moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Big Island eight years ago. Keith is currently the Water Quality Laboratory Manager at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority (NELHA) and previously a Naturalist Guide for Hawaii Forest & Trail. Mary is a writer and meditator who practices gratitude each day. We hope that you will visit us and experience the Big Island - local style.

We enjoyed our stay at this relaxing and beautiful
getaway just a short distance from Kona. Nestled in a
quiet neighborhood, we felt like part of the
community. Our private entrance made us feel like we
had a home away from home with our very own veranda
with view of the ocean and a Japanese garden. We
found ourselves having breakfast on the veranda and
being mesmerized by the ocean view.
The ideal location allowed us to kayak and snorkel at
nearby bays and to also visit the volanco. Easy
access to "down home" restaurants and kayak rental
places made our vacation days all the more carefree.
We especially enjoyed the hassle-free environment
devoid of other hotel guests or dress requirements.
In our spacious and immaculate room, we found
ourselves not only able to spread out our personal
items but also able to shed everyday stress. Mary and
Keith, you made us feel so comfortable.

Our stay in Hawaii was made enjoyable by the lovely setting at OP Hale.
The room was large and spacious, with a private entrance, closet and refrigerator.
It was immaculate and the views from the room & veranda was incredible.
We enjoyed our breakfast's on the veranda and the near by papaya tree supplied us with Hawaiian fruit in the morning.
The location of the OP Hale was convenient to the volcano, Kona coast, (Kona coffee & Macadamia nut Plantations) and the north shore.
It was a short distant to go snorkeling and kayaking (with kayak rental at the end of the street).
Plenty of restaurants are near by to eat, with reasonable prices.
We stayed at OP Hale for a wonderful two weeks and had plenty of thing to do and see.
We definitely will come back again!

As we are French, it was first in our language that we wrote to say all we think; this is the translation (Sorry for the errors I write).
What's a pleasure to have a rest in OPHALE during february when you are coming from France: complete accomodations with a spectacular view on the ocean. Relaxation and coolness in this place very calm and where the owners seem to be absent as their discretion is important: only their kindness equal their discretion !!!!!!!
It's with a tear at the eye that we left this place. We hope to come once more.......
